Saudi Unemployment Falls to 12.7% at the end of Q4
The latest business news from Saudi Arabia shows mixed results. On the positive front, it is a pleasure to see Saudi Arabian unemployment falling, which is always good news for any country.
Whilst there has been progress, it is sad that rates of unemployment are some five times higher for women as opposed to men, standing at 32.5% as opposed to 6.6% respectively.
It is imperative for Saudi Arabia’s future and her development and diversification away from oil dependence, that the education, training and professional development of girls and women are truly world class; and that ‘employment’ opportunities for ladies are as broad as possible.
Saudi Arabia has taken radical, concerted and real steps, with some good success, to move forward in this area, with some innovative and exciting projects and initiatives.
